The Vortex Cylinder Stove, takes down smaller, weighs less, and it puts out more heat than SS stoves twice its size. While
wood burning stoves are not what some would call "ultra light", this one is about as light as they get. The titanium body,
cylindrical shape along with a damper, make this stove burn very efficiently.  The Vortex Cylinder Stove is very basic.  Its
been stripped down to pure light weight function, while still retaining big performance.  It features a 2-3/8 inch pipe along
with  all the great heat transfer properties of titanium .  How do you cook on a round top stove?  No problem.  The 2 titanium
support rods across the top of the stove will support over 5 lbs.  The lack of full contact  means it's not as efficient for
cooking as a flat top stove, but it still works.  We recommend using the stove without a spark arrester, the damper works fine
for controlling the burn rate.  Burning a stove with the damper wide open wastes wood and increases the draft rate ... that's
when you get sparks.
If you want a spark arrester, order one here
Titanium pipes:  We have been using titanium pipes on our stoves since 2006.  These pipes have several advantages over
the stainless steel pipes (cost not being one of them).  The first is of course weight.  The titanium pipes are 30% lighter and
20% thicker than their stainless counter parts.  While being 30% lighter, these pipes are also stronger.  So not only are they
lighter, stronger, and last a life time, the titanium pipes are also more efficient. Titanium transfers heat far better than
stainless, so by using the titanium pipe, you get more heat radiated into your tent, rather than lost up the pipe.

New in 2013 was a 16 inch
version.  The longer body will
allow for use of longer wood and
increase burn time.

Make sure you get the right
size pipe.  We like to see at
least 1 ft of pipe above the peak
of the tent.  So if you have a
tent that is 7.5 ft tall you want
an 8 ft pipe.  Longer is better up
to a point.  Pipes that are over
2.5 ft above the peak could
cause problems in high winds.
